April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month (CAPM)! Chadwick Center’s Interim Medical Director, Dr. Shalon Nienow, shares the significance of pinwheels and our efforts to bring awareness to this important community issue.
Every day as health care providers, we take steps to protect our patients from future harm. In 2020, RCHSD staff made over 1,700 mandated reports of child abuse to Child Welfare Services (CWS). There were approximately 4,400 substantiated cases of child abuse in San Diego County in 2020.
