Good News! The
CARES Institute of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New
Jersey, in collaboration with the
National Crime Victims Research and Treatment Center at the Medical
University of South Carolina, is pleased to announce that
the Pepsi Refresh Project has
accepted our proposal to develop and test a new Web-based training
course (similar to
TF-CBTWeb)
that will train mental health professionals in an effective,
evidence-based treatment approach for families at-risk for violence.
Therapists will be able to complete this new online course totally free
of charge. The goal of the project is to increase access to high
quality, evidence-based and free training for mental health
professionals and greatly improve services, particularly to under served
communities and families. If therapists can learn effective treatments,
we can reduce violence in families. We are very pleased that the Pepsi
Refresh Project found our idea to have merit.
However, at this point our project is only approved and nominated for
funding. The final funding decisions are made in a very unique way,
by public vote. Yes, the projects that receive the most number of
votes by the public will be funded. We hope that you will vote for our
project!
Voting
begins today, October 1, 2010, and continues through October 31, 2010.
The rules are you can vote once a day during this time period. Please
vote for our project once each day of the voting period. Please do
not vote more than once a day, or we will be disqualified. Here is
